My wife got a gift card from the call center she is working from as a reward.
Last Monday, she decided to use it, and tagged me along.
As an owner of an upstart construction firm, going to The Spa with her doesn’t really appeal to me.
Truth to tell, I'd rather stay at home and watch basketball.
When we got to The Spa, we were met by the friendly staff, and my wife got lined up for her solo massage immediately.
As my wife went into the inner room, the girl at the table asked me if I would like to try out their special promo for June.
I told her that I'm not really into "the spa thing".
She told me that there is always a first time for everybody, and encouraged me to try and take advantage of the discount, which is 20%!.
Out of curiosity, I decided to try the Sea Salt Body Scrub.
After showering, I was guided into a treatment room that has a shower bed in it.
There, sea salt was rubbed unto my body!
It was abrasive without being hurtful.
After a while, I started to feel good and really "clean".
As the girl in white finished with the scrubbing, I was treated to a nice bath on the shower bed, my body felt so smooth and clean.
I was led to another room for a shower (a lone shower stall!) to get my body clean of the oil.
Then, I was ready for the massage.
I used to get massages from a chair (and a blind masseuse) so a lying down massage is a first for me.
The girl masseuse was good!
She was so good that I fell asleep a few minutes into the massage.
She truly is an expert in her trade because she seems to know when to apply the pressure on my body where I needed it the most.
I was truly energized afterwards.
When I got out from the treatment room, I found my wife already waiting for me, surprised that I took a massage.
I simply told her that I decided to try The Spa, and I found that the money I spent was truly worth it.
I told her that we will go for the couples massage next time.
She was delighted!
