I love going to spas as much as the next girl, but I have to admit that I usually request the full body treatments.
Not only does it feel like I'm getting more bang for my buck, but I never really saw the importance of pampering one's locks for an entire hour.
I was pleasantly surprised, however, at how just relaxing my first hair and scalp treatment turned out to be.
I was brought into a quiet, dimly-lit room, which was peaceful enough despite the presence of other clients, and told to sit on a plush Lazy-Boy.
I appreciated that the therapist placed towels over my entire body to keep me from getting cold during the treatment.
Then, she began intently massaging my scalp and applying different ointments and masks to nourish my hair.
I even experienced a tingling "mint-like" sensation on my scalp midway through the treatment, which I found quite stimulating.
So much attention was focused on my upper body-I especially enjoyed the unique ear rub, and the arm and hand massage administered while the mask was setting-that the treatment left me thoroughly relaxed.
I would have willingly fallen asleep had I not had to rinse the still-damp mud from my scalp in the shower, using a special Moor Mud shampoo and condition.
