The Spa is obviously well-known for their massages, but facial treatments are a whole different story.
And since I never had one before, I had no idea what to expect.
I stepped into the locker room and the attendants gave me a robe and slippers.
With some time to spare before, I was happy to be able to use the steam, sauna, and other amenities while waiting for my treatment.
I was feeling fully relaxed and a bit sleepy, as I was informed to remain in my robe and proceed to the lounge area where all the other fully relaxed, half sleepy people wait for their massage to start.
Unlucky for me, I was only going to go as far as the lounge area.
My therapist unfolded a tray of goodies-mud, scrubs, and pokey things for extracting every bit of dirt and oil from my face.
Honestly, it was an array of things all alien to me.
So I just closed my eyes, took a deep breath and went along for the ride.
It was okay, at first, as the therapist massaged my face and used two different scrubs to cleanse it.
I was relaxed as relaxed can be.
She then said that she was going to start with the mud.
I've seen these mud masks before, but never experienced them yet, so I was quite intrigued.
I was like a chicken being basted. It felt odd, but had a cool mentholated feeling.
When she was done, she left me for ten minutes to let the mud harden.
I patiently sat for about a minute, then passed out for the remaining nine.
The next thing I knew, she was gently waking me up.
I tried to smile, but it was no use! The mud had turned into quick dry cement.
It was a very unusual, yet oddly pleasant feeling.
She slowly washed the mud off my face and I instantly felt that I had been given a new face-one that of which was cleaner, fresher, and dirt free!
