I like spas.
I love the idea of being pampered and renewed by every spa trip.
I've been to quite a few, but The Spa tops my list - it's pure indulgence!
Everything from the Thai-inspired interior to the smell of lavender wafting in the hallways was a treat to all my senses.
I was especially impressed by the private treatment room.
It contained a massage bed, a very luxurious tub, and a spacious counter with a sink, hair dryer, and other amenities.
Just stepping into the room made me relaxed already!
I lay down on my stomach on the heated bed, which I thought it was a real perk, having been to other spas and ending up feeling cold most of the time.
The therapist began by gently brushing me with a dry brush meant to rid the body of toxins locked up in the skin's surface.
She then proceeded with the application of the mud mixture.
This was my first time to be covered in mud so the thought was a bit alien to me.
But it was done in a very relaxed manner, with no time to feel uncomfortable.
Plus the mud concoction had a nice herbal scent, and felt warm and rich on my skin-that was really an experience.
I was then wrapped in plastic and layers of blankets.
After a good 15 minute nap, the therapist helped me into the whirlpool tub to let the mud dissolve, asking me if I'd like a drink while I was resting.
The ginger tea I chose was definitely a highlight!
It was a thick, sweet, gingery concoction that went down perfectly!
I hit the shower afterwards, feeling rejuvenated and refreshed inside out.
